{"id":121,"date":"2024-03-07T18:29:07","date_gmt":"2024-03-07T18:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/job-s.co.za\/?p=121"},"modified":"2024-03-07T18:29:07","modified_gmt":"2024-03-07T18:29:07","slug":"general-worker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/job-s.co.za\/?p=121","title":{"rendered":"General Worker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>LOCATION:<\/strong> Presidential Protection Service (KZN Nkandla)<br \/>\n<strong>REFERENCES:<\/strong> PPS 4\/08\/2020 (1 post)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Generic Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must display competency in the post-specific functions of the post;<\/li>\n<li>Be a South African Citizen<\/li>\n<li>A Grade 10 qualification will serve as an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Be able to read and write.<\/li>\n<li>Willing to work extended hours when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in at least two official languages, of which one must be English.<\/li>\n<li>Must have no previous convictions or cases pending<\/li>\n<li>Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and<br \/>\nfingerprint verification<\/li>\n<li>Be willing to work irregular hours.<br \/>\nCore Functions:<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining of a high level of hygiene in and around the workplace with the cleaning of the<br \/>\nSAPS premises assigned to, which may include either or both inner and outer parameters<\/li>\n<li>Performing tasks of a routine nature, such as dusting<\/li>\n<li>Polish furniture and floors<\/li>\n<li>Vacuum carpets and mopping of tile floors<\/li>\n<li>Remove refuse<\/li>\n<li>Perform maintenance tasks in and around the assigned premises<\/li>\n<li>Clean bathrooms and kitchens<\/li>\n<li>Safekeeping and handling of a variety of Aids in the cleaning of the premises<\/li>\n<li>Loading and unloading of goods<\/li>\n<li>Garden maintenance services<\/li>\n<li>Washing and cleaning of state vehicles, kitchenware and utensils..<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>General:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only the official application form (available on the SAPS website (www.saps.gov.za) and at SAPS Police Stations) will be accepted. The Z83 previously utilized will no longer be<br \/>\naccepted. All instructions on the application form must be adhered to. Failure to do so may<br \/>\nresult in the rejection of the application. The post particulars and reference number of the<br \/>\npost must be correctly specified on the application form. A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae<br \/>\nmust be submitted together with the application form as well as copies of an applicant\u2019s ID<br \/>\nand all educational qualifications. It is not necessary for certification and commissioning of<br \/>\napplications at this stage due to COVID-19 restrictions. Qualifications submitted will be<br \/>\nsubjected to verification checking with the relevant institutions. The South African Police<br \/>\nService will verify the residential address of applicants and conduct reference checks.<br \/>\nAppointments will be made in terms of the Public Service Act, 1994 as applicable to the post<br \/>\nenvironment. If a candidate is short-listed, it can be expected of him\/her to undergo a<br \/>\npersonal interview as well as a practical assessment. Reference checking will be conducted<br \/>\non all short listed applicants. Short-listed candidates for appointment to certain identified<br \/>\nposts, will be vetted in terms of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters)<br \/>\nAmendment Act, 2007 (Act No 32 of 2007) and the Children\u2019s Act, 2005 (Act No 38 of 2005).<\/li>\n<li>A candidate whose particulars appear in either the National Register for Sex Offenders orPart B of the Child Protection Register, will be disqualified from appointment to that post. Allshort-listed candidates will be subjected to fingerprint screening. Correspondence will beconducted with successful candidates only.
