Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963<\/p>\n<p><b>WHAT SOUTH32 OFFERS<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The opportunity to become a shareholder of South32 through our share plans<\/li>\n<li>26 weeks full-paid, or 52 weeks half-paid parental leave for primary carers<\/li>\n<li>Ability to purchase up to 4 weeks of additional annual leave<\/li>\n<li>Options for additional superannuation contributions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>ABOUT THE ROLE\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This role is a permanent position on a 4:3, 10-hour dayshift family friendly roster, residential on Groote Eylandt.<\/p>\n<p>As the Mine Site Rehabilitation Crew Mentor, you will work with a team of Indigenous Groote Eylandt traditional owners. Together we help unlock each other\u2019s full potential (both inside and outside of work). This position is critical to delivering the Rehabilitation Team\u2019s purpose statement of \u201cgrowing people, growing trees\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><b>Other key responsibilities include, but aren\u2019t limited to:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with the Mine Site Rehabilitation team to plan, scope and safely execute a range of activities including native seed collection, nursery propagation, tree planting, weed management and arboriculture.<\/li>\n<li>Role model strong visible safety leadership.<\/li>\n<li>Motivate and coach the team to overcome a range of challenges both inside and outside of work.<\/li>\n<li>Exchange knowledge and drive two-way learning by sharing mainstream work practices whilst learning aspects of local indigenous culture and work practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>ABOUT YOU\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work alongside indigenous employees to achieve training outcomes and ensure employees remain engaged in day-to-day activities.<\/li>\n<li>A passion for working in a team to continuously improve the Mine Site Rehabilitation program.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with record keeping systems and ability to operate computer programs including Microsoft Office suite.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications for this position are:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated experience and\/or Qualifications in Mine Site Rehabilitation, Natural Resource Management, Indigenous Employment\/Training or similar.<\/li>\n<li>NT Drivers Licence (C or LR).<\/li>\n<li>EWP licence, Chemical Ticket advantageous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/careers.south32.net\/job\/Groote-Eylandt-Mentor-Mine-Rehabilitation-NT-0885\/949351110\/\">Apply online\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.\u00a0 We provide a recruitment process that is fair, equitable and accessible for all and we encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.<\/p>\n<p><b>This job advert will close on 21st March 2024.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Location:\u00a0Groote Eylandt, NT, AU, 0885 Company:\u00a0South32 Group Operations Pty.
