Job Position: Artisan Assistant – Electrical and Mechanical

Location: Berlin (outside East London)
Salary: R43.28 per hour (40 hour week)

Qualifications / Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year working experience in a factory environment
- Possession of Code 08 Drivers license highly advantageous
- Previous experience in electrical and Mechanical
- Fit to work physically and at heights
- Ability to use equipment and tools
- Student who has completed National Technical Certificate 3 Mechanical
- Training completed highly advantageous:
– First Aid Level 1 or 2
– Fire Fighting Basic
– Health and Safety Representative
– Basic computer literacy skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Ability to follow rules, regulations, procedures and instructions
- Punctuality and reliability
- Honest and trustworthy
- Mature attitude and stable with ability to learn new skills
Key Performance Areas:
- Perform delegated tasks effectively to assist in achieving company goals
- Assist Artisans with maintenance on machinery and buildings
- Assist Foreman and Artisan in stripping, repairing and assembling various types of machines
- Ensure all tools and equipment are accounted for and cleaned / maintained properly
- Perform tasks in accordance with safety, health, environmental and quality work procedures and requirements
- Perform delegated general checks and housekeeping duties including workshop, machinery and equipment
- Assist in keeping the general workplace in good and clean condition
