Introduction
Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Artisan Fitter to be placed in Zibulo NS Decline Development . The successful candidate will report to the Foreman Engineering. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Effective supervision of team’s daily tasks to meet targets
- Plan for electrical / mechanical equipment installation and maintenance requirements
- Cost containment, through effective planning, on time availability of materials and equipment, high mean time to failure after repairs, no rework
- Engineering installations are constructed, overhauled repaired and maintained according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
- Effective stakeholder engagement, work with others to identify and resolve problems and escalate where appropriate.
- Self and team comply with the lock out systems required on machinery and equipment
- Self and team wear correct PPE at all times
- Self and team understand and comply with legal regulations and M&RC’s policies, procedures, standards and safety protocols
- Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or NQF level 4 equivalent
- Section 26 Millwright Trade Certificate / MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board) Trade
- Certificate through a registered body e.g. ESTC (Engineering Skills Training Centre) James Park & GFA (Goldfields Training Academy)
- Contract of Apprenticeship signed off by employer and Department of Manpower
- Advanced Hydraulic Training (If not part of a Trade Certificate)
- OEM training on specific TMM machine [Preferred], Valid Code EB driver’s license
- Flame Proof and Gas Testing Certificates (Essential)
- Valid First Aid Certificate (Essential, if not available, must obtain at on-boarding)
- Good English written and verbal communication skills
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- 5 years of mining industry experience (underground and surface)
- 5 years of trade experience as a Fitter
- Experience with Nkangala Drill Rig & Bolter Machine
- Knowledge of PDS system
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, conveyors and inspections [preferred]
