1. EMS LEARNERSHIP / AMBULANCE ASSISTANT PROGRAM 2026
Offered by: Department of Health, Netcare 911, ER24, Private EMS providers
– Duration: 6-12 months or 12 months
– Cost: FREE TRAINING – 100% funded
– Stipend: R8,500 β R9,000 per month. Some providers offer ~R5,000
– What you get: Tuition, uniform, equipment, practical ambulance training, NQF qualification
2. Training Includes:
– Basic Life Support BLS, CPR, First Aid
– Patient handling & transport
– Emergency scene safety, vital signs, ambulance equipment
– Real emergency call experience 67ec
3. Available in:
Gauteng, Western Cape, KZN, Eastern Cape, Free State, Limpopo 67ec
Minimum Requirements:
– Age: 18-35 years old
– Education: Grade 10-12. Some want Grade 12 with Maths, Science, English
– SA Citizen with valid ID
– Physically & medically fit
– No criminal record
– Good communication, calm under pressure.
